New Honeywell Security and Fire business unit to be led by David Paja

Honeywell on Tuesday announced that it is combining its Honeywell Security Group and Honeywell Fire Safety businesses to form Honeywell Security and Fire (HSF), which will be a new business unit within Honeywell Automation & Control Solutions (ACS).

The company said that the combination of the two businesses offers a broader and more robust portfolio of products and end-to-end connected solutions for homes and buildings. Bruce Eric Anderson, a spokesman for ACS, said that the creation of HSF makes sense as the businesses are a natural fit.

"There is a common trend of connectivity and broader offerings for both homes and buildings that will open growth opportunities for our dealers and distributors, and provide a greater scale of technical expertise that will deliver the connected solutions end-users expect today," he said.

The new business will be led by David Paja as president of HSF, reporting to Alex Ismail, president and CEO of ACS. Paja, who joined Honeywell in 2003, most recently served as president of Honeywell Security Group. He also served as vice president and general manager for Honeywell Transportation Systems in China and India and has extensive global business, operational and marketing expertise.

Gary Lederer, president of the legacy Honeywell Fire Safety business, will focus on projects supporting the integration of the businesses until 2016, when he will retire.

Honeywell said that sales leaders within the legacy HSG and HFS businesses will remain in place to ensure continued focus on their customers’ success.

"This is an exciting opportunity for Honeywell and its customers. The creation of this new business unit underscores the company’s continued commitment to strengthen the depth of its technology and product offerings," the company said in a statement. "The company remains committed to supporting its customers with the same level of reliable and quality products, service and delivery throughout this process, with a focus on transparency and open communication."
